Reply drafts from the assistant
Request a ready-to-edit reply draft on any email thread. The assistant grounds it in your playbook, templates, knowledge base, and the actual conversation.
When a client email needs an answer, the assistant can write the first draft for you — on demand, grounded in your workspace's own data. The draft lands in the composer for you to edit; nothing is ever sent automatically.
Requesting a draft
- From the email composer on a deal — open the reply composer and press "Generate reply" (the "Write" action in the composer's toolbar). The draft body is inserted into the editor when it's ready.
- From the thread panel in the inbox — the thread side panel offers "Draft a reply"; while it works you'll see "Drafting…", and when done, "Use this draft" opens the composer pre-filled. "Regenerate" requests a fresh version.
There is also a companion "Check" action: instead of writing for you, the assistant grades the reply you typed and returns concrete findings to fix before sending.
What the draft is built from
The assistant does not improvise. Each draft is assembled from these sources:
| Source | Role |
|---|---|
| Sales playbook | Tone, structure, and the moves that won your past deals — see the playbook. |
| Program templates | Your active email templates — the authoritative source for prices and terms. |
| Knowledge base | Relevant published articles from the Library — see knowledge base. |
| Loss patterns | A "do not do this" list distilled from lost conversations. |
| Winning examples | Real emails that closed similar deals, used as style references. |
| Dialog summary | A compressed state of the whole thread so long histories still fit. |
| Client facts | The deal's and contact's fields — names, country, service type. |
On top of that, the latest messages are passed verbatim, so the draft answers the client's actual last message, not a paraphrase.
Why the draft may be unavailable
The feature is gated deliberately — if any check fails, the button won't produce a draft:
- The assistant is turned off for the workspace. An administrator enables it in Settings, on the assistant hub's "Activation" tab; you may see "AI is off — click to activate" on the button.
- Draft suggestions are disabled as a separate switch, even when the assistant itself is on.
- The draft is still generating — generation runs in the background; the button shows a progress state until it's ready.
- The draft went stale — the client wrote again after the draft was generated. Ikigai withholds an outdated draft; press "Regenerate".
- Generation failed — a temporary provider error; simply request the draft again.
Treat the draft as a strong first version, not a final answer: check names, dates, and promises before you hit send — you stay the author of every email.
