A tour of the Ikigai shell: the left sidebar sections, the top bar with search and notifications, the user menu, and where settings live.

Ikigai keeps one consistent shell on every page: navigation in the left sidebar, a top bar with search and notifications, and your content in the middle. This article walks through each part so you always know where to click.

Left sidebar

On desktop the sidebar is a narrow dark rail of icons — hover one and a tooltip shows its name. On mobile the same navigation opens from the "More" button in the bottom tab bar, where the items appear as a labeled list split into "Workspace" (the daily drivers) and "Other" (everything else) — the same two blocks administrators see in the navigation editor. A default workspace contains:

ItemWhat it opens
HomeYour dashboard with key numbers and activity.
TasksYour task list — follow-ups, due dates, reminders.
CalendarEvents and meetings.
PipelineThe kanban board where deals move through stages.
ContactsPeople: names, emails, phones, channel profiles.
CompaniesOrganizations your contacts belong to.
AI assistantsThe AI assistants hub. A default item, but visible only when your role has the corresponding permission.
MailThe shared email inbox connected to the CRM.
MessagesChat conversations from messenger channels.
LibraryTemplates, documents, knowledge base, reports.
ApprovalsRequests waiting for a decision.
TeamYour colleagues and the org structure.
SettingsThe workspace and personal configuration hub.

One thing to keep in mind: your sidebar can differ. Administrators can rename, reorder, and hide items per workspace, and items you lack permission for are hidden automatically.

At the top of the rail sits your avatar — the user menu (see below).

Top bar

  • Search — the pill in the middle opens the command palette; the shortcut is Cmd+K. It finds records, tasks, and settings.
  • Notifications — the bell opens the "Notifications" panel. You can filter it by category, click "Mark all read", and jump to "Notification settings" from the panel footer.
  • Workspace menu — shows which workspace you are in and, if you belong to several, lets you switch.
  • The thin strip under the bar collapses or reveals it — handy on pages where you want every pixel for content.

User menu

Click your avatar at the top of the sidebar:

  • "Account" — your personal settings (profile, language, signatures).
  • "Keyboard shortcuts" — the cheat sheet of hotkeys.
  • "Dark theme" / "Light theme" — switch the appearance.
  • "Open documentation" — opens this Help Center in a new tab.
  • "Accept leads" — a personal toggle: switch it off and new leads plus your current clients are routed to other managers until you turn it back on.
  • "Sign out" — end the session.

Where settings live

Everything configurable sits under "Settings" in the sidebar. The hub has its own left menu: personal pages such as "Account" and "Notifications", plus workspace-level pages (pipelines, members, integrations) that only administrators see in full.

Continue with Deals, contacts, and companies to learn the three record types you will work with daily.
